about the artist: Born in Germany, Carla decided to follow her grandmother’s roots back to America. A successful engineer by trade, she has several masters degrees, studied varied disciplines such as Management and Aviation Science. But something wasn't right. Carla disagreed with the definition of "green" as labeled by global industries and corporations she worked for. She felt nature should be treated with respect and not exploitation. With that, she decided to leave the corporate world and follow her dreams to live in a truly green world... without computers... without TV... and even without electricity!! Her world is a place of trees, fresh air, and clean water. A place where birds sing, moose roam, and at night the stars are close enough to reach up and touch!!! Carla's world is her little patch of the woods of Maine where you can find her using old techniques in creating art that is excitingly new and speaks of nature! She creates art that is different and unique, using many unusual materials - but you will never find her using any plastic. |
